Tralee Bay Wetlands Centre takes pride on providing well-planned trips that meet your study requirements and budget but endeavouring to go that little bit further to make your trip special, whatever the age and size of your group.

We offer a fun and educational day out in Kerry's capital for school groups of all ages and sizes. Our range of programs led by experienced and enthusiastic tutors and guides are specifically designed to make the most of learning outside of the classroom and bring the curriculum to life for primary and secondary students.

Tralee Bay Wetlands Eco & Activity Park offers children unforgettable up-close encounters with nature in the heart of Tralee. Our educational and learning team delivers interactive programs and tours that are worlds apart from anything they can experience in the classroom. School groups can come face to face with a wealth of amazing wetland biodiversity at the Centre. It offers a unique educational experience for groups of any age. Our Programs provide access to equipment, facilities and expertise not normally found in schools. Our dedicated staff will ensure an educational and enjoyable day

April to Sept Programme

Discover your inner detective with this treasure hunt around the wetlands. Follow the hidden clues and unscramble what you find to reveal a word you might find in the Wetlands.

Students work in teams to navigate our carefully planned course locating the features of the wetlands using a map and grid references.

{slider title="Pond Dipping" class="icon"}

Students will venture into our wetland ponds with nets hunting for small animals and insects, and perhaps something larger!

{slider title="Pedal Boats!" class="icon"}

Pedal your classmates around the our Activity lake and maybe you can race to see who is the fastest pedalling!

{slider title="Outdoor Team Games" class="icon"}

Students learn to work together to overcome challenges in our team games. In groups take part in a Group Skies race down the lawn at the Wetlands. See you can reach the finish line first. Then two teams will compete to see who can fill a barrel with water the fastest in our famous Gutterball game!

Search the wettest part of the wetlands for frogs and newts and even insect with this fun amphibian and insect survey demonstration.

Learn about the fantastic wildlife of Tralee Bay with the Tralee Bay Wetlands Team as we discuss about the evironment and nature!

Do you know what makes a mammal a mammal? Students will get the opportunity to see small mammals up close and personal and learn more about them.

Climb our 9 metre Outdoor Climbing Frame. Harness provided (suitable runners/sneakers are need for this activity).
