A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for both our World Wetlands Day Nature Walk and our Ballyseedy Woods Walk!

On February 2nd, we marked World Wetlands Day, celebrating the incredible role wetlands play in protecting biodiversity, improving water quality, and supporting climate resilience.

Our guided nature walk through Tralee Bay Wetlands Ecology Park was a fantastic opportunity to immerse ourselves in these vital ecosystems, with our Senior Ecologist, Alan Balfe, sharing insights into the rich flora and fauna that call the wetlands home.

Then, on February 9th, we ventured into Ballyseedy Woods, one of Ireland’s precious Wet Woodlands, an ancient habitat that has existed since at least the mid-1600s. Guided by our ecologists Alan & John, participants explored this rare ecosystem, learning about its significance and the wildlife it supports.

Your enthusiasm and love for nature made both events truly special. Thank you for your support and for taking the time to connect with us and appreciate the natural world around us.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who visited the Lakeside Café at Tralee Bay Wetlands! Whether you stopped by for a relaxing coffee, a delicious treat, or simply to enjoy the beautiful surroundings, we truly appreciate your support.

Your visits help make the café a welcoming space for the community to connect, unwind, and enjoy the natural beauty of the wetlands. We look forward to welcoming you again soon!

Let’s continue working together to protect these beautiful ecosystems for future generations!

We also look forward to welcoming you to our rescheduled Nature Bay Walk on Sunday, February 23rd, 2025.
